A Prayer for Financial Provision

Money worry has a way of getting into every room of the house. This is a daily-bread prayer — no shortcuts promised, no jackpots requested.

Father, You feed sparrows and You know our bills by heart. Give us this day our daily bread, wisdom for what's in our hands, and freedom from the fear. Amen.

A fuller prayer

Lord, I'm laying the numbers before You because they're heavier than they look. You are not embarrassed by rent and groceries — You taught us to pray for bread. So: provide what we need, show me what to do with what we already have, and give me the courage for the hard choices — the call I'm avoiding, the help I'm too proud to ask for, the spending that has to change. Guard our home from the shame that makes money troubles lonelier than they need to be. And keep my heart generous even now, because fear-tight fists catch nothing. You have carried us this far. I trust You for the next month. Amen.

Scripture to hold on to

Give us this day our daily bread.

MATTHEW 6:11 · BSB

And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

PHILIPPIANS 4:19 · BSB

Give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the bread that is my portion.

PROVERBS 30:8 · BSB

How to pray this

Pray with the actual numbers in front of you — vagueness feeds anxiety, specifics feed faith. And note answered provision when it comes, in writing; you'll need the list on a future tight month. Beware anyone who promises God pays out like a machine — provision is a Father's care, not a transaction.

Don’t carry this alone

The chain is small and forming — which means your request won't be lost in a crowd. Real people will pray this with you, for your situation, by name — and you’ll see each one happen.

Ask the chain to pray with you

Or join free and pray for others — praying earns prayers.

Common questions

Does God promise to make me wealthy if I pray?

No — and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. Scripture promises provision for needs and contentment beyond circumstances, not riches on demand.

Is it faithless to also get financial help or advice?

It's wise. Provision often arrives through counsel, community, and a budget — pray and plan.
