Privacy Policy
What we collect
Your email address (it’s how you sign in — we have no passwords), your name (shown to signed-in members only as first name and last initial), your state if you share it, an optional mobile number, your posts, comments, prayer requests, notes and updates, your prayer-list items, reactions, people you choose to remember, reports you send, records of prayers you confirm, and — if you support Gathered — payment records processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
Text messages (optional)
If you give us your mobile number and tick the consent box, we may text you about your own prayers — like “someone just prayed for you.” Never marketing blasts, and never on a pre-ticked box. Reply STOP to any message, untick the box in Settings, or clear your number — each stops texting immediately. Message and data rates may apply.
What other people see
Signed-in members can see Gathering posts and comments with your first name, last initial, and state. Prayer requests marked anonymous do not show those details. Prayer notes are delivered privately to the requester, not posted as comments. Shareable links, if you create one, show only the details described there. Your email address, full surname, reports, and Remember list are never displayed to other members.
What we do with it
Run the service: display the member Gathering, deliver requests, organize replies and updates, count confirmed prayers, personalize the feed using private Remember choices, send the emails you selected, moderate abuse, and meet legal obligations. Aggregate counts are computed from real records.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your information, share your requests outside the community, or use the content of your prayers for advertising. Every email has a one-tap unsubscribe.
Your privacy choices
We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined in US state privacy laws. You can request a copy of your information or ask us to delete your account and its data by emailing hello@gatheredprayer.com — we honor these requests regardless of which state you live in. Gathered is for adults: the service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Who processes data for us
Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (optional-support payments), and an AI screening step that checks posts, comments, requests, and notes for safety before they are shared — its output is used only for moderation.
Crisis content
If a request suggests you may be in danger, a member of our team reads it personally so we can respond with care and show you the right resources.
Your choices
You can choose daily, weekly, or no Gathering email, remove your own community posts and replies, delete prayer-list items, and ask us to delete your account and its content by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your requests from view; anonymized ledger records may be retained where the law requires financial records to be kept.
Children
Gathered is for adults 18 and over. Requests about children, written by the adults who love them, are welcome; accounts for children are not permitted.
