A Prayer for Strengthened Faith

Lord, I believe — help my unbelief. Meet me in the dry season, keep me showing up, and rebuild my trust one small answered morning at a time. Amen.

A fuller prayer

Father, I'll say what the man in the Gospel said, because no one's improved on it: I believe; help my unbelief. My faith feels thin — prayers feel like letters to no address, and I miss the years when this was easy. But here I am, still talking to You, which must mean something is still alive. Meet me in the ordinary: a verse that lands, a kindness with timing too good for coincidence, the stubborn pull that keeps bringing me back. Give me a community that carries me while my arms are down. I won't pretend to more faith than I have — but I'll plant what I've got, mustard-seed sized, and let You do the growing. Amen.

Is doubt a sin?

Doubt brought honestly to God is faith doing pushups. Jude 22 says 'have mercy on those who doubt' — the church is commanded to be gentle with you, and God is gentler still.

What if I feel nothing when I pray?

Feelings are weather; faithfulness is climate. Keep the appointment. Some of the church's greatest saints prayed through decades of dryness and called the showing-up itself the prayer.
